The Academy is the trusted voice of the U.S. actuarial profession, dedicated to advancing its role in shaping sound public policy. Through our comprehensive communications program, we highlight the value of actuaries to key audiences and increase public awareness of the profession’s critical contributions.
International
As the national leader in setting actuarial standards, the American Academy of Actuaries represents the U.S. profession on the global stage by:
- Representing the U. S. actuarial profession in front of key supranational organizations;
- Maintaining good relations and open communications with key actuarial associations;
- Monitoring international developments with the potential to affect actuarial practice within the U.S. and represent the U.S. actuarial profession as needed; and
- Assisting the growth and maturation of actuarial associations outside the U.S. when a) requested by the local association, and b) the resource commitment will not disrupt other Academy priorities.
