The Academy’s work is grounded in independence, objectivity, and balance to support its mission to serve the public and the U.S. actuarial profession. Academy volunteers play a critical role in upholding these core values through their contributions to the Academy’s public policy and U.S. actuarial professionalism efforts.
▶ COI/CE Attestation Deadline: Individuals serving on Academy committees as volunteers or as interested parties must annually acknowledge the Academy’s conflict of interest (COI) policy. Volunteers must also complete continuing education (CE) attestation as outlined in the Academy’s COI/CE policies. With the deadline approaching in mid-April, those on Academy committees should log in to their Academy account to submit required attestation(s).
Voluntary CE Attestation and Keeping Your Profile Current
It’s also a good time to take a few minutes to ensure your Academy member information is up to date. Here are some reminders and things to check in your member profile:
▶ Voluntary CE Attestation—While Academy volunteers have been required to submit the annual CE attestation along with the COI acknowledgment, beginning this year all members are offered the opportunity to attest to whether they met annual CE requirements as set forth in Section 2.2 of the U.S. Qualification Standards (USQS). Attestation strengthens your credibility as a member of the U.S. actuarial profession by affirming a commitment to the USQS and the Code of Professional Conduct.
▶ Member Directory—Have you updated your profile in the Academy’s online Member Directory? Members can add their LinkedIn profile and a photo, update actuarial designations, and select what information they would like displayed publicly in the directory. Log in to your member profile to update your information in the member directory. An up-to-date profile paired with your CE attestation presents a complete picture of your professionalism profile.
▶ Become a volunteer—Interested in volunteering with the Academy? Learn about the Academy’s many volunteer opportunities on the volunteer contact webpage.
▶ Dues reminder—Have you paid your 2026 membership dues? Log in to view your profile to keep your membership active and up to date.
▶ Employment—Have you recently changed jobs? Verify that your contact information reflects your new role and any addresses (email and/or mailing address) are accurate and that a secondary means of contacting you is included in case changes occur.
