The Academy’s Seminar on Effective P/C Loss Reserve Opinions is designed for property/casualty actuaries who prepare, or assist with preparing, National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) annual statements of actuarial opinion on P/C loss reserves.
Through interactive sessions and discussions with our expert faculty, you’ll explore the latest regulations and standards that apply, providing you with an understanding of regulatory perspectives and expectations.
Preparatory Webinar: If you’re new to opinion writing or seeking to strengthen your expertise, the Statement of Actuarial Opinion (SAO) 101 webinar will provide an introduction to opinion writing, including essential background information and a look at the opinion writing process. This webinar is available only to seminar registrants–be sure to add both the webinar and seminar when registering for the event to maximize your learning experience. This webinar will be held live on Nov. 17, at noon Eastern time. There will be opportunity for live on-camera questions.

Grand Hyatt Nashville places attendees right in the middle of downtown, steps from The Gulch and Midtown, with easy access to Nashville’s music scene, dining, and top attractions once sessions wrap up for the day. When making your travel plans, keep in mind that the seminar will start early on Dec. 7 and conclude before lunch on Dec. 8.
CE CREDIT
The American Academy of Actuaries believes in good faith that your attendance at the “Seminar on Effective P/C Loss Reserve Opinions” may constitute relevant continuing education and an organized activity as defined under the current Qualification Standards for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States depending upon your area of practice. Under the U.S. Qualification Standards, an hour of continuing education is defined as 50 minutes, and fractions of an hour may be counted.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you must cancel your registration, the Academy will refund the registration fee, minus $100 for administrative fees, for cancellations received by Nov. 7. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after this date. All requests for cancellation or transferring your registration must be made in writing by emailing [email protected].
