Onboarding Volunteer Webinar: Committee Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons

Academy committee chairpersons and vice chairpersons are invited to participate in an onboarding webinar focused on the roles, responsibilities, and resources that support effective committee leadership. 

This webinar will provide practical guidance to help chairpersons and vice chairpersons carry out their responsibilities. Topics include the Academy’s governance structure, the roles and responsibilities of committee leadership, working with Academy staff and fellow volunteers, conducting effective meetings, strategic planning, volunteer engagement and development, succession planning, reporting requirements, and key Academy policies and procedures. 

Participants will learn how to: 

• Recognize how their committee’s work supports the Academy’s mission, governance structure, and priorities. 
• Support succession planning by identifying and preparing future committee leaders. 
• Understand committee reporting requirements and relevant Academy policies and procedures. 
• Access available resources and work effectively with Academy staff to support committee activities. 

Whether you are new to committee leadership or continuing in your role, this webinar will provide information and resources to help you effectively lead your committee and contribute to the Academy’s work.
