Effective asset-liability management (ALM) is essential for helping public pension plans balance long-term obligations, investment objectives, and risk management. Join us for a webinar exploring the role of ALM studies in public pension plan decision-making and the value of incorporating an actuarial perspective throughout the process.
Presenters will discuss the broad purposes of ALM studies, examine the tradeoffs often revealed through ALM results, and highlight key findings from the American Academy of Actuaries issue brief on this topic. Through real-world examples, attendees will gain insight into how ALM findings can be communicated effectively to support informed decision-making.
At the conclusion of this webinar, attendees will understand:
- The primary objectives and uses of asset-liability management studies;
- Why evaluating assets and liabilities holistically is critical to effective pension plan management;
- How actuarial expertise can enhance ALM modeling, analysis, and stakeholder discussions; and
- Approaches for communicating ALM findings and tradeoffs to decision-makers and other audiences.
