Interested in getting more involved with the American Academy of Actuaries? Join us for the 2026 Call for Volunteers Information Session to learn how volunteering can help you expand your professional network, develop new skills, contribute to the profession, and support the Academy’s public policy mission.
Whether you are exploring volunteer opportunities for the first time, are an early-career actuary looking to get involved, or are interested in serving in a new capacity, this session will provide an overview of the opportunities available through the 2026 Call for Volunteers.
During the session, participants will:
- Learn about committee service and short-term volunteer opportunities.
- Hear from current Academy volunteers about their experiences and the impact of their work.
- Understand how the volunteer placement process works and what committee leaders consider when selecting volunteers.
- Receive a walkthrough of the volunteer interest form, including tips for highlighting relevant skills and experience.
- Ask questions and receive guidance before submitting an application.
No prior Academy volunteer experience is required. Members at all career stages and from all areas of actuarial practice are encouraged to attend.
At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Complete the Call for Volunteers interest form effectively.
- Identify volunteer opportunities that align with their interests and experience.
- Understand the role Academy volunteers play in advancing the profession and informing public policy.
- Navigate the volunteer selection process with confidence.
