Beyond the Basics: Navigating VM-22 in Practice
VM-22 is no longer on the horizon. It’s here, and the work of implementation is underway. The Academy’s VM-22 Practitioners Forum is designed for experienced actuaries who are past the introductory phase and ready to sharpen their understanding by connecting with peers navigating the same terrain.
The half-day forum features a series of small-group discussions. Registered participants will have the opportunity to vote on topics, helping determine which conversations take center stage on the day. The result is a program built around what’s most pressing for the practitioners in the room. And with space limited to 50 participants, you’ll have the opportunity to engage deeply in the topics most relevant to your work
Topics Include:
- Asset selection
- Adoption strategy
- Capital and reinsurance
- Modeling
- Governance
- Pricing
- Combination products
Starting immediately after the close of the SOA Valuation Actuary Meeting, the forum is an ideal complement for those already planning to be in Denver.
Faculty
The discussions will be led by recognized leaders in this field: Kathy Bachman, MAAA, FSA; Robert Eaton, MAAA, FSA; Bruce Friedland, MAAA, FSA; Linda Lankowski, MAAA, FSA; Craig Michaud, MAAA, FSA; April Shen, MAAA, FSA; and Jonah von der Embse, MAAA, FSA.

Attendees may earn up to 4 continuing education (CE) credits, with the final amount to be determined based on the final agenda. Under the U.S. Qualification Standards, an hour of continuing education is defined as 50 minutes, and fractions of an hour may be counted.
