The  American Academy of Actuaries held its 2012 Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon on Oct. 15th. This year’s event was held in conjunction with the Society of Actuaries Annual Meeting.

Stuart Rothenberg
Political Analyst and Editor, The Rothenberg Political Report
 
As a fixture on Washington’s political scene, Stu Rothenberg has the rare ability to report all the political happenings in the nation with unrivalled clarity and free of partisan bias. Always insightful, and often humorous, Rothenberg gives his take on elections for national office, and how their results will play out in policy debates on Capitol Hill.

• Cecil D. Bykerk Becomes 48th Academy President

Cecil D. Bykerk was installed as the Academy’s 48th President. The focus of his presidency will be to bring an actuarial perspective to bear on ever-increasing health care costs in the United States.

• Awards Presentation

Outgoing President David Sandberg honored Julia Phillips with the Robert J. Myers Public Service Award, Curtis Huntington with the Jarvis Farley Service Award (click here to view his acceptance speech), and Shawna Ackerman, Mita Lodh, and Mike Ward with Awards for Outstanding Volunteerism.

• Regular Directors Introductions

Outgoing President David Sandberg welcomed new regular directors to the Academy Board of Directors.
