
Public Plans Committee
The committee's purpose is to bring to the public and the United States actuarial profession expertise regarding retirement plans for state and local government employees. Within the scope of this mission, the committee:Develops issue briefs and practice notes for the membership. Comments on actuarial standards of practice related to public plans.
- Provides independent and objective analysis, advice, and education to stakeholders of state and local government employee benefit plans with respect to:

- Managing financial risks
- Plan design
- Emerging events
