Academy Presents Inaugural Rising Actuary Awards to 14 Emerging Actuarial Leaders

WASHINGTON—The American Academy of Actuaries recognized 14 young and newly credentialed actuaries with its Rising Actuary Award, an award established this year by the Academy to encourage the development and emergence of actuarial leaders 35 years old and younger or credentialed 10 years or less.

During the awards ceremony—which took place at the Academy’s 2022 Annual Meeting: “Envision Tomorrow” in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 2—Academy President Maryellen Coggins said, “Each of the recipients has inspired the people around them with a story of leadership—in the Academy, and in corporate, social, professional, or other nonprofit roles. Young actuary leaders represent the future of the actuarial profession, bringing innovation, new perspectives and skills, and embrace leadership roles to guide the profession into the future. They are essential to the continuing success and growth of the U.S. actuarial profession.”
