Hill Visits Offer Academy’s Input to Public Policymakers Academy volunteers and staff held Hill visits visits on Capitol Hill in Washington in April. They met with federal lawmakers and staff to discuss key public policy issues such as the Affordable Care Act, Social Security, flood insurance, and cybersecurity. Insurance Investment Summit The Academy’s well-attended Insuring the Future: Insurance Investment Summit in New York in late May brought together actuaries, investment and insurance professionals, and asset managers who covered topics including regulatory issues and offshore reinsurance. “Globally, insurance companies are increasingly turning to alternative assets and asset-intensive reinsurance,” said Marc Altschull, chairperson of the Investment Analysis Subcommittee, which led the summit’s planning.
