As actuaries and regulators prepare for the fast approaching Jan. 1, 2020 mandatory implementation deadline for companies not otherwise exempt, the Academy’s PBR Boot Camp will provide useful and practical information for individuals at all levels of familiarity with the principle-based reserving (PBR) methodologies and reserve requirements. Register today for the Academy’s PBR Boot Camp this winter and hear lessons learned from those who have been at the forefront of PBR implementation for life insurance and variable annuity products.  

Now that variable annuities are subject to PBR, the agenda has been expanded to include an overview of the changes to variable annuity valuation contained in Valuation Manual section VM-21 and in the revised AG 43.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

The American Academy of Actuaries believes in good faith that your attendance at the “PBR Boot Camp” seminar may constitute relevant continuing education and an organized activity as defined under the current Qualification Standards for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States depending upon your area of practice. Under the U.S. Qualification Standards, an hour of continuing education is defined as 50 minutes, and fractions of an hour may be counted.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The Academy will refund the registration fee, minus $100 for administrative fees, for cancellations received by Nov. 9, 2019. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after this date.
