Your Academy Membership Keeps Our Profession Strong: Renew for 2026
10/31/2025
Dear Academy Member,
Thank you for being a valued member of the American Academy of Actuaries. As we approach 2026, when I will serve as president of the Academy, I’m grateful for your continued commitment to the Academy’s mission of serving the public and the U.S. actuarial profession. I am pleased to let you know that it is now time to renew your membership online (Invoice Number: #00000), an investment that delivers compounding value to your professional journey, supports your employer’s success, and strengthens the U.S. profession as a whole.
For 2026, annual membership dues have increased slightly by $5, after a year without any increase, to help support the Academy’s mission of serving the public and U.S. actuarial profession while continuing to deliver strong value to you and your employer.
Professionalism and Public Policy: The Foundation of the U.S. Actuarial Profession
Your membership supports the resources and professionalism framework that define the U.S. actuarial profession. Academy dues fund access to high-quality, low-cost, and free continuing education; timely, objective, and nonpartisan actuarial insights that inform policymakers and regulators; and a wide range of publications and resources that help you stay informed and effective as an actuary. These efforts maintain the independent professionalism bodies that safeguard actuarial practice and uphold public trust. In addition to supporting the many benefits of being an MAAA, part of the dues also helps cover costs associated with supporting the Actuarial Board for Counseling and Discipline (ABCD) and the Actuarial Standards Board (ASB).
New for 2026: Voluntary CE Attestation
I’m excited to introduce a new opportunity for members to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to professionalism and to serve as a centralized resource for clients, employers, other stakeholders, and the public.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, members will receive information about a voluntary option to attest that they meet the U.S. Qualification Standards (USQS) continuing education requirements. Members who choose to attest will be able to log in to their member-only page to complete the process, and their CE status will be displayed in the Academy’s online membership directory.
As in prior years, all Academy volunteers will continue to be required to complete this attestation by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
Academy Membership Impact
Academy membership delivers a powerful return on investment for both you and your employer. Your membership ensures access to cutting-edge resources and low-cost or free continuing education through the Academy Learning platform, enhancing your professional capabilities, while your employer benefits from a highly skilled workforce grounded in the highest professional standards, reducing risk and strengthening trust in actuarial work.
Your membership also provides timely insights into public policy and regulatory changes, giving both you and your employer a strategic advantage through proactive understanding of the regulatory landscape and ensuring stakeholders appreciate the critical perspectives actuaries bring to policy discussions. By supporting Academy membership, employers demonstrate a commitment to professional development, helping attract and retain top actuarial talent and supporting the long-term sustainability of the profession.
Renew Today
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to U.S. actuarial professionalism, sound public policy, and continued access to critical Academy resources so that we can sustain the value you expect from your membership. We look forward to another impactful year with your continued commitment and engagement.
With appreciation,
Tricia Matson, MAAA, FSA
President-Elect, American Academy of Actuaries
