Academy Director of Research Steve Jackson presented recent research findings on risk-based capital (RBC) and impairment to NAIC task forces and working groups at the NAIC Spring National Meeting in San Diego. They included presentations on an Academy memo to NAIC’s RBC Model Governance (EX) Task Force as well to NAIC’s Capital Adequacy (E) Task Force—both of which spanned property/casualty and life & health practices. Three additional presentations were given to NAIC’s Life RBC (E) Working Group, Health RBC (E) Working Group, and the Joint Meeting of Catastrophe Risk (E) Subgroup and Property and Casualty RBC (E) Working Group.
