Practice Councils Comment on ASOP No. 41; Comments Due Tomorrow A reminder that comments are due tomorrow, March 15, to the ASB on ASOP No. 41, Actuarial Communications, which affects all practice areas. The Casualty Practice Council (CPC), Health Practice Council (HPC), and Retirement Practice Council (RPC) all sent comment letters to the ASB. Comment via the ASB website.

Upcoming Webinars to Cover the Code, New ERM ASOPRegister now for the Academy’s upcoming professionalism webinars, including A Deep Dive Into the Code of Professional Conduct, being held in two weeks. President Darrell Knapp and predecessors Lisa Slotznick and Ken Kent will present on the Code, which identifies the responsibilities actuaries have to the public, their clients and employers, and the profession. It will be held on Friday, March 28, from noon to 1:30 p.m. EDT. Register today.

ERM ASOP—Next month’s The New ERM ASOP: What You Need to Know will look at new Actuarial Standard of Practice (ASOP) No. 58, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), which takes effect May 1 and replaces previous ASOP Nos. 46 and 47. Presenters from the Actuarial Standards Board’s (ASB) ERM Committee will discuss why a new ASOP was needed and highlight changes actuaries operating in the ERM space should be aware of. It’s set for Friday, April 25. Registration will open soon.

Reminder—Submit Your COI/CE Acknowledgments There’s still time for Academy volunteers and interested parties to submit their annual conflict of interest and continuing education (COI/CE) acknowledgments. A reminder went out last week to those who still need to submit them. Acknowledgments can be submitted via the Volunteer Resources section of your member webpage. Practice Councils Comment to NAIC’s New RBC Model Governance Task Force Vice presidents of the CPC, HPC, Life Practice Council, and Risk Management and Financial Reporting Council provided comments to the NAIC’s newly established Risk-Based Capital (RBC) Model Governance (EX) Task Force on the task force’s 2025 goals and proposed charges. Public Policy in Brief The Pension Committee sent comments to the House Budget Committee asking it to consider modifying the due date of the 2025 Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation premiums for single-employer pension plans.
