Public service is a rewarding career path, and the American Academy of Actuaries has long supported government employers who are seeking to hire qualified actuaries. The Academy wishes to advise policymakers and regulatory bodies that it can provide its membership notice of announcements of open positions for employment when requested to do so.

These announcements are made at the sole discretion of the Academy. Typical distribution would be a brief notice in This Week and/or Actuarial Update. Employment announcements may be edited for clarity and length. For such an announcement to be considered appropriate for this special dissemination to Academy members, the position must be one that will be filled by qualified or credentialed actuaries.

All employers can also post employment opportunities to the jobs page on the website of Contingencies magazine, at no cost. Members who are seeking new employment often search these job postings, which can be sorted by employer, location, and practice area.

If you have questions on this policy, or to submit a public employment opportunity for the Academy to consider, please contact Eric Harding, the Academy’s assistant director of communications for publications.
