Actuarial Standards of Practice

The Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOPs) act as a compass for Academy members, guiding them through the complexities of their work with clear and consistent direction.

By adhering to these standards, actuaries ensure that their recommendations align with industry-leading principles, while keeping the integrity and reliability of their analyses on track.

These standards are developed by the ASB committee relevant to the practice area(s). Actuaries should be aware, however, that standards other than those listed under their practice area may also apply. It is up to the individual actuary to review all the standards and determine which ones apply to their work.
