This award recognizes young actuaries whose dedication to professionalism and leadership strengthens the profession and the communities they serve. Young actuary leaders represent the future of the actuarial profession, bringing innovation, new perspectives and skills, and an embrace of leadership roles to guide it into the future. They are essential to the continuing success and growth of the U.S. actuarial profession. Through national recognition by the Academy, the Rising Actuary Award encourages the development and emergence of actuarial leaders.

About the Award

Young actuary leaders represent the future of the actuarial profession, bringing innovation, new perspectives and skills, and an embrace of leadership roles to guide it into the future. They are essential to the continuing success and growth of the U.S. actuarial profession. Through national recognition by the Academy, the Rising Actuary Award encourages the development and emergence of actuarial leaders.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible candidates are members of the Academy who are:

  • 40 years old and younger or
  • Credentialed 7 years or less as of Jan. 1, 2026.

How to Nominate

Nominations for the 2026 Rising Actuary Award are now open.

The deadline to submit nominations is May 19.

Two separate nomination forms are available:

  • One for individuals who wish to nominate themselves (self-nomination); and
  • One for those who wish to nominate another Academy member. 

All nominators and nominees will be asked to answer questions as part of the nomination process. 

Self-Nominations
Self-nominators will need to provide a reference who will respond to questions in writing related to the nomination. Be prepared to send the nomination questions to your reference, who will have until Tuesday, June 2, 2026, to submit their answers directly to the link that will be provided to you on the self-nomination submission page.
