The American Academy of Actuaries is offering regulators a unique opportunity to continue the discussion on professionalism and accountability that we hosted at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Summer 2014 National Meeting.

At that Aug. 16 breakfast forum, we discussed several professionalism issues and our progress toward developing ways to address these concerns, as well as the Academy’s proposal to create a verification system for actuaries to illustrate their qualifications. This webinar will allow those who missed the breakfast, and others who attended, to catch up on and discuss our progress.

WEBINAR PANELISTS*
John M. Purple, MAAA, FCAS, is a member of the Actuarial Board for Counseling and Discipline and a member of the Council on Professionalism, and formerly served as chief actuary at the Connecticut Insurance Department from 1998 until his retirement in 2009.

MODERATOR *

  • Keith J. Jones, Esq. is Academy General Counsel and Director of Professionalism.

*The opinions expressed by the panelists during this presentation do not represent the opinions of any of the panelists’ employers, or any boards or committees of the Academy, the ASB, or ABCD.
