Assumptions lie at the heart of actuarial work. Late in 2016, the Actuarial Standards Board (ASB) approved an exposure draft of a proposed actuarial standard of practice (ASOP) that would provide guidance to actuaries setting assumptions.

In this webinar, ASB member Barbara Snyder, ASB Assumptions Task Force Chairperson Maria Sarli, and ASB General Committee member Ralph Blanchard examined key issues raised in comment letters during the exposure process.

CONTINUING EDUCATION AND JBEA CPE CREDIT.
The American Academy of Actuaries believes in good faith that attendance at this live professionalism webinar constituted an organized activity as defined under the current Qualification Standards for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States, and that attendees may have earned up to 1.8 CE credits for attending this live webinar.

We also believe in good faith that Enrolled Actuaries may have earned 1.8 CPE core ethics credits under the JBEA rules for attending this live webinar. However, the JBEA ultimately determines what constitutes core, non-core, ethics, or non-ethics continuing education and the number of CPE credit hours allocated to same for enrolled actuaries.
