Navigate the Policy Landscape in a Pivotal Election Year

As federal policymakers consider critical next steps on artificial intelligence, climate risk, insurance access and affordability, and the future of the retirement and the aging U.S. population, the Academy is launching its inaugural Spring Policy Summit to advance actuarial perspectives on these pressing issues. This timely summit will provide actuaries with a focused opportunity to deepen their understanding of the policy landscape during a pivotal midterm election year.

Attend In Person or Online

  • In Person: Join us at the Royal Sonesta Washington, D.C. – Capitol Hill, conveniently located just steps from Union Station, making travel easy whether you’re arriving by train or Metro. Online registration is now closed, but you can still register onsite if planning to join us in person.

What to Expect
This day of continuing education programming will feature leading Academy volunteers, representatives from Capitol Hill offices, federal agency staff, and key stakeholder groups. They will explore emerging priorities and challenges for 2026, including insights from leaders shaping insurance regulation and policy at the highest levels.

You’ll participate in dynamic discussions on the evolving policy landscape, as well as examine critical questions around professional standards and self-regulation that impact how we serve our clients and the public.

Gain valuable perspectives on the current policy and political environment through expert panel discussions, engage directly with stakeholders who are shaping the conversation, and walk away with practical strategies to enhance your professional practice.

Who Should Attend
This summit brings together actuaries interested in public policy and the regulatory landscape with representatives from Capitol Hill, federal agencies, and stakeholder organizations working on insurance policy issues. Whether you’re an actuary already engaged as an Academy volunteer, exploring ways to get more involved, or a policymaker seeking deeper connections with the actuarial community, this summit provides a unique opportunity to build and strengthen connections across these communities.
