Interested in learning how to make your volunteer experience with the Academy a successful one? Our chairperson and volunteer orientation webinar provides an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the Academy’s structure, policies, guidelines, and resources that apply to your volunteer work. This presentation is tailored to ensure a successful committee experience for participants, providing information for a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities in the activities chairs and volunteers engage in at the Academy.
Tom Wildsmith, a past president of the Academy, and Secretary/Treasurer Tom Campbell—both former practice council vice presidents with extensive volunteer experience—provide an overview of the Academy’s mission and ways that we can work together to advance that mission and the actuarial profession. Academy staff, including Executive Director Mary Downs and Director of Public Policy Craig Hanna, help moderate and facilitate questions and answers. All chairs and volunteers are encouraged to review this webinar no matter whether you are a newcomer or a veteran to help you have an enjoyable and effective tenure as an Academy volunteer.
