The Academy invites nominations for the 2017 Robert J. Myers Service Award. The nomination deadline is June 30, 2017.

Eligibility requirements

Eligible candidates are members of the Academy who have:

  • demonstrated their commitment to professionalism;
  • made an extraordinary contribution to the public good through service to the government or other organizations in the public sphere, even when conflicted by political pressure;
  • been an inspiration to practicing actuaries; and
  • commanded respect within and without the profession.

All members of the Academy are eligible to receive the award. Former Academy presidents may be nominated, but only their post-presidential service will be considered. The nominee may be a current or former government employee, the employee of an organization whose primary focus is government work, or an unpaid volunteer working at a philanthropic organization. Work as a paid consultant, as a member of an actuarial committee, or as an officer of an actuarial organization is ineligible.
