Highlights
Rugland’s own actuarial career began with a job in the actuarial department of Connecticut General Life, which he took shortly after graduating in 1961 from the University of Michigan’s graduate business school. Rugland joined Milliman & Robertson in its Chicago office in 1975, moving to Hartford to start Milliman’s office there in 1980. After retiring from Milliman in 1998, Rugland became chief operating officer of the Aid Association for Lutherans in Appleton, Wis., retiring at the end of last year.
