Actuaries must be heard on public policy issues, so that legislative and regulatory decisions are influenced by facts and objective analysis. The Academy is the only U. S. actuarial organization committed to serving the public on behalf of the US actuarial profession. I will work to continue the Academy’s objectivity on public policy issues, particularly public pension plans and Social Security. Americans rely on these financial security systems and others, and I will use my time on the board to contribute to the Academy’s professionalism work to ensure the work of its members meets high standards of competence and integrity. It would be an honor to serve on the Academy’s Board of Directors, and I will strive to uphold its reputation and the reputation of the actuarial profession.Academy Service
