The Academy's mission is to serve the public and the U.S. actuarial profession. My service on the Board will allow me to:
broaden my role in advancing the Academy’s goals. My time as an Academy volunteer has centered on financial reporting issues related to property casualty matters, providing input to regulators, and providing training and information to our membership on preparing work products that respond to regulations. The Academy provides a voice for actuaries in shaping public policy at the national and state level by relying on member volunteers who contribute time and expertise to the policy dialogue. The feedback loop to the membership includes not just what we have communicated to the debate, but in turn what the public may expect from us as actuaries with expertise in these areas. Board members will best serve the membership, not just in directly providing this input that shapes public policy but by working to engage our membership in this process. Serving as a member of the Academy Board of Directors would be an honor and a challenge.Academy Service
