Envision Tomorrow Spotlight-Professionalism General Session to Explore Self-Regulation
An Envision Tomorrow professionalism general session, “On the Winds of Change: An Exploration of Successful Self-Regulation in a Complicated World,” will explore self-regulation, a foundational concept of the U.S. actuarial profession.
A panel of experts-Tim Geddes, vice president of professionalism and education, who will moderate; Academy President Lisa Slotznick; President-Elect Darrell Knapp; Immediate Past President Ken Kent; Committee on Education Chairperson Nancy Behrens; and Actuarial Board for Counseling and Discipline Vice Chairperson William Hines-will explore factors including artificial intelligence (AI), new legislation and regulations, and evolving expectations of professional behavior. Justin Connor, executive director of the Center for Industry Self-Regulation, will give opening remarks. Professionalism continuing education (CE) credit will be available. It will be the closing session of the Academy’s annual meeting, being held Oct. 15-16 in Washington, D.C. See the full agenda.
