Nominations Open for 2025 Member-Selected Directors
Nominations are open for 2025 member-selected directors to the Academy Board. Directors will be selected by members later this year in an online selection process from a slate of candidates presented by the Nominating Committee. Review the Nominating Committee Guidelines to learn more about the role of member-selected directors, candidate criteria, and how to nominate yourself and other Academy members. Insurance Summit Keynote Announced: Canada Pension Plan’s Tom Kalvik Joins the Agenda
Tom Kalvik, managing director and senior member of the Integrated Strategies Group at CPP (Canada Pension Plan) Investments, will deliver the keynote address at the Academy’s Insuring the Future: Insurance Investment Summit in New York next month. Stewart Foley, managing director and editor-in-chief of the InsuranceAUMJournal, will moderate the session, which will kick off the two-day event.
Kalvik brings expertise in insurance investment strategies, leading CPP’s significant insurance private equity investments. He is a board member of Wilton Re and previously served as a board observer of Antares Capital. Kalvik’s unique perspective on the evolving investment landscape for insurance companies promises to deliver invaluable insights for attendees.
Academy volunteers and interested parties (IPs) have until April 22 to submit their annual conflict of interest and continuing education (COI/CE) acknowledgments. Volunteers and IPs who do not complete this process by then will be removed from their committees. Acknowledgments can be submitted via the “Volunteer Resources” section of the member webpage.
Volunteer Webinar Next Week
The Academy will hold a volunteer webinar next week, Onboarding Volunteer Webinar for General Committee Members, on the Academy’s role, areas to volunteer in, roles and responsibilities, guidelines and policies, best practices for volunteers, and other topics specific to volunteering. It will be held on Tuesday, April 22. Register today.
