ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Earlier this year, the Actuarial Standards Board (ASB) released ASOP No. 56, Modeling, a new actuarial standard of practice (ASOP) for all practice areas. This webinar featured former ASB members and members of the ASB’s Modeling Task Force discussing the scope of the standard, what constitutes a model, and the fundamental guidance given by the standard. Our speakers also discussed how the standard approaches topics such as the actuary’s role, reliance on others, governance and controls, documentation, predictive models, and disclosures.
With a speaker from each practice area, we had a lively discussion of these topics, with insights relevant to each practice area. There was ample time for questions and answers.

CONTINUING EDUCATION AND JBEA CPE CREDIT.
The American Academy of Actuaries believes in good faith that attendance at this live professionalism webinar constituted an organized activity as defined under the current Qualification Standards for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States, and that attendees may have earned up to 1.8 organized and professionalism continuing education (CE) credits for attending this live webinar.
We also believe in good faith that Enrolled Actuaries may have earned 1.8 continuing professional education (CPE) non-core, non-ethics credits under the JBEA rules for attending this live webinar. However, the JBEA ultimately determines what constitutes core, non-core, ethics, or non-ethics continuing education and the number of CPE credit hours allocated to same for enrolled actuaries.
