Dear Nick,
I would like to thank you, both personally and on behalf of the American Academy of Actuaries, for helping us celebrate the Academy’s 50th anniversary. It was a pleasure to see you at our annual meeting last month.
The gift you presented to the Academy on behalf of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries is a beautiful token of the history of service to the actuarial profession that our organizations share. We have it on display in the Academy offices. Thank you again for that thoughtful gesture, and for traveling such a distance to mark the occasion with us.
I celebrate the role the IFoA plays in educating, developing, and regulating actuaries based both in the U.K. and internationally. As the U.S. national organization, the Academy doesn’t operate in other countries. But we recognize that U.S. actuaries benefit from a strong, vibrant global actuarial community. The role played by the IFoA is vital to the health of the global actuarial community, and we deeply value our long and cordial relationship with you.
I look forward to this coming year with great optimism. The IFoA is in good hands under your leadership, and I look forward to working with you for the betterment of the profession.
Sincerely,

Tom Wildsmith
