I would like to thank you, both personally and on behalf of the American Academy of Actuaries, for helping us celebrate the Academy’s 50th anniversary. It was a pleasure to see you at our annual meeting last month.
The polar bear was a fitting choice from our neighbors to the north. It is a wonderful token of the 50 years of service to the actuarial profession that our national organizations share, and we have it on display in the Academy offices. Thank you again for that thoughtful gesture.
The bonds we share stretch beyond a common founding date. Ours are truly sister organizations. I celebrate the role the CIA plays in promoting the advancement of actuarial science and professional standards in Canada. I look forward to this coming year with great optimism. The CIA is in good hands under your leadership, and I look forward to working with you for the betterment of the profession.
