Dear Bob,
I would like to thank you, both personally and on behalf of the American Academy of Actuaries, for helping us celebrate the Academy’s 50th anniversary. It was a pleasure to see you at our annual meeting last month.
The gift you presented to the Academy on behalf of the Casualty Actuarial Society is a beautiful token of the history of service to the actuarial profession that our organizations share. The eagle was an excellent choice. We have it on display in the Academy offices. Thank you again for that thoughtful gesture.
I celebrate the role the CAS plays in advancing actuarial science through a focus on research and education for property and casualty actuarial practice. It’s a different role than that played by the Academy, but one that is equally vital to the health of the profession.
I look forward to this coming year with great optimism, and look forward to working with the CAS for the betterment of the profession.
Sincerely,

Tom Wildsmith
