He has served on numerous Academy committees, and currently serves as chairperson of the Life and Health Qualification Seminar and vice-chairperson of the Council on Professionalism. Why I want to serve on the American Academy of Actuaries’ Board of Directors
During my years of volunteer work with the Academy, I have valued the opportunities I have had to work with both the Academy staff and other member volunteers. I feel the work the Academy does is very important to our profession and will be even more important as the public exposure for actuaries continues to increase. I would value the opportunity to further my involvement with the Academy by serving on the Academy Board of Directors. What I believe are the most important issues facing the American Academy of Actuaries
In conversations with members and giving presentations, I often get questions asking what real tangible value do I gain by being an American Academy of Actuaries member. I see this as an opportunity for the Academy to both educate and enhance the value of Academy membership. It is easy to point to specific regulatory requirements for membership, but a lot of members are looking for more than that. The Academy needs to ask the question “What practical value can we provide our members in order for them to value their membership.”Academy Service
