Actuarial Experts Available to Discuss Public Policy Challenges Ahead of State of the Union

WASHINGTON – As President Obama prepares to outline his administration’s priorities in the State of the Union address on Jan. 12, experts at the American Academy of Actuaries are available for media interviews providing analysis of many major public policy challenges facing the nation.
The Academy is the public policy voice of the U.S. actuarial profession, and through its public interest mission, it examines risks such as climate change, rising health care costs, obstacles to securing retirement income, and many other financial security issues essential to American families and businesses.
Academy experts who focus on public policy areas are available for media interviews:
- Lifetime income and retirement solutions through life insurance, and financial services reforms: Senior Life Fellow Nancy Bennett.
- Climate change and natural catastrophe risks, emerging issues pertaining to the sharing economy, and cybersecurity: Senior Property/Casualty Fellow Jim MacGinnitie.
- Health care costs, Affordable Care Act implementation, and Medicare: Senior Health Fellow Cori Uccello.
- Social Security policy, Medicaid, and long-term care: The Academy also has available highly experienced volunteers who are experts in these and many other issues of concern to aging Americans.
