ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Even with the improvements to Medicare solvency projected in the 2023 Medicare Trustees Report, the Medicare program faces both short- and long-term financing challenges. Medicare’s Hospital Insurance Trust Fund is expected to be depleted within the next decade. In addition, Medicare spending on the whole is increasing as a share of the economy.
In this webinar, the chief actuary for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will provide an overview of the trustees report findings and highlight the challenges to the program’s solvency and sustainability. Next, panelists will discuss a range of possible options to address those challenges, including those that can be implemented in the near term as well as longer-term structural changes.
