Academy Life Practice Council: Principle-based update 15

The Academy’s Life Practice Council will present its quarterly NAIC update on the latest Principle-based Approach (PBA) developments at the NAIC in this 90-minute webcast. The discussion will be conducted by those leading the PBA effort, and include such topics as:

  • PBA reserve and capital update,
  • VACARVM,
  • Solvency modernization,
  • PBA and how it relates to international issues.

  • Philip Barlow, District of Columbia Department of Insurance and Securities Regulation, chair of the NAIC’s Life RBC Working Group.
  • Nancy Bennett, Senior Life Fellow, American Academy of Actuaries.
  • Larry Bruning, Kansas Insurance Department, chair of the NAIC’s Life and Health Actuarial Task Force.
  • Tom Campbell, vice president of the Academy’s Life Practice Council.
  • Dave Sandberg, chair of the Academy’s Risk Management and Solvency Committee

The American Academy of Actuaries believes in good faith that the “Principle-Based Update 11” webcast constitutes an organized activity as defined under the current Qualification Standards for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States.

Under these Qualification Standards, an hour of continuing education is defined as 50 minutes, and fractions of an hour may be counted.
