Join your colleagues at the 2010 American Academy of Actuaries Annual Meeting and Luncheon on November 8 in Washington, DC. This year's luncheon is being held in conjunction with the Casualty Actuarial Society Annual Meeting and is open to all Academy members.
Official Academy business to be conducted:
- Presidential transition.
- Election of regular directors to the board of directors.
The Academy also will present these awards:
- The Jarvis Farley Service Award this year will honor two actuaries, including one distinguished member who will be honored posthumously. The Jarvis Farley Award recognizes those whose volunteer efforts on behalf of the Academy have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the profession.
- The 2010 Robert J. Myers Public Service Award will honor an actuary who has made a single noteworthy contribution to the common good or who has devoted an entire career to public service.
Keynote Speaker
This year's luncheon welcomes keynote speaker Howard Fineman—one of the nation's foremost political reporters and commentators. In 30 years at Newsweek, Fineman led its award-winning political coverage and served as the magazine's chief political correspondent, senior editor, and deputy Washington bureau chief. Fineman recently was named a senior politics editor at The Huffington Post.
He is the author of the "Living Politics" column and the 2008 national best-selling book, The Thirteen American Arguments. An award-winning reporter and writer, Fineman also is an analyst for NBC and its cable networks, MSNBC and CNBC. He regularly appears on such programs as "Hardball with Chris Matthews" and "The News with Brian Williams" and reports for "The Today Show" and "Dateline."

If you are already registered for the CAS Annual Meeting, your registration already includes the Academy's luncheon. No action is required.
